Thesaurus exemplorum medii aevi (ThEMA)
ThEMA is a database of over 12000 (and growing) exemplary anecdotes (exempla) from the Middle Ages giving special insight into the imagination of men and women in the Medieval West and beyond, from Russia and the Middle East to China and Japan. The exempla are recorded in original and summary form, and indexed according to a massive dictionary of keywords, major catalogues like Tubach, and bibliographic references, permitting researchers to investigate these stories from historical, anthropological, literary, and historiographic perspectives.
