Corpus Inscriptionum Latinarum

The aim of the Corpus Inscriptionum Latinarum (CIL), initiated in 1853, is to collect and edit all Latin inscriptions of the Roman world according to systematic criteria.
Archival records of the CIL from the 19th and early 20th century are gradually being made available in digital form via the project's database: https://cil.bbaw.de/ace. The archive database is linked to the relevant databases on Latin epigraphy.
Using the digital working environment Epigraf https://epigraf.inschriften.net/, developed in the academy project Deutsche Inschriften (DI), the CIL is currently working on its first digital edition of inscriptions.
