PhiloBiblon

philobilon

PhiloBiblon is a bio-bibliographical database of the primary sources for the study of the medieval Iberian literatures. It picks up the baton from one of the oldest DH projects, the Bibliography of Old Spanish Texts (BOOST). PhiloBiblon consists of three different bibliographies: BETA (Biblioteca Española de Textos Antiguos), BITAGAP (Bibliografia de Textos Antigos Galegos e Portugueses), and BITECA (Bibliografia de Textos Antics Catalans, Valencians i Balears). Since 2011 the database has grown from 220,415 records to over 340,000 today, and it will continue to increase when BIPA (Bibliografía de la Poesía Áurea), currently under construction, comes on line soon. In addition, PhiloBiblon has recently established a site at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona to mirror the original one at Berkeley. Furthermore, it has signed an agreement with Cilengua in order to sponsor the Cilengua PhiloBiblon International Seminar, in which annually we train 20 distinguished students from all over the world in both our database and intellectual ecosystem.
