Post-doctoral Fellow (Ref: 2200871) in the Department of Literature and Cultural Studies at the Education University of Hong Kong

The Department of Literature and Cultural Studies seeks a postdoctoral fellow to enhance the department’s ongoing and developing initiatives in the area of Digital Humanities. These centre around literary and historical inquiry with GIS, computational approaches to literary and philological research, and teaching and learning with technology. During the appointment period, the appointee will present the work during the departmental seminar series, produce at least one article-length research output or comparable digital project, and support the department’s teaching development, knowledge transfer, and community service projects (as appropriate). He/she will also help teach the department’s interdisciplinary introduction to the digital humanities (and/or other courses as appropriate).
The applicant should have either (1) a Doctoral Degree related to information technology, with evidence of collaboration with humanities scholars or (2) a Doctoral Degree in a humanities field with evidence of conducting research related to digital humanities. Alongside required application documents, candidates should submit 1) a detailed cover letter describing previous experiences related to digital humanities; 2) a two-page precis of the work they would like to undertake during their fellowship; 3) evidence of successful previous teaching experience.
This is a fixed-term postdoctoral fellowship, aimed at an early career scholar within the fields of literary, historical, or cultural studies. The appointment will be for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement. Applicants must have a Doctoral Degree in a related discipline in hand by the start date.
