Torsten Roeder

Torsten works as Digital Humanities consultant and researcher at the German National Academy Leopoldina (Halle/Saale), where he is responsible for DH project management and DH concepts. His university background is musicology and Italian studies, and he studied in Hamburg, Rome and Berlin, receiving his PhD at the university of Würzburg. His research projects so far usually included cultural movements and transformations, like studies on migration, translation and intercultural reception. On the technical side, he curated several database resources and digital editions. He is a member of the Institute for Documentology and Scholarly Editing (IDE). His greatest hobbies are choir music and sailing.
