Paul Gooding

paul goodingPaul Gooding is the Eastern ARC Research Fellow in Digital Humanities at the University of East Anglia. His research explores the theoretical and practical impacts of large-scale digitisation in the cultural heritage sector. He has a BA from the University of East Anglia and an MA from University College London, and completed his PhD at UCL Centre for Digital Humanities in 2014. Paul's research interests include: online use of digital heritage materials; digital libraries and digitisation; and the impact of digital materials on conceptions of textuality and identity. He is particularly interested in exploring how large-scale cultural datasets and computational methodologies can help us to explore these issues. Hel is a qualified librarian with experience in broadcast media and Higher Education. While working as a librarian for BBC Sport, he worked on a number of major sporting events including the 2008 Olympics, 2010 World Cup, the 2010 Winter Olympics and the British Open Golf, and provided library support for Match of the Day for a number of years.
