Karina van Dalen-Oskam
Karina van Dalen-Oskam currently works at Huygens Institute for the History of the Netherlands (one of the research institutes of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences ) as head of the Department of Literary Studies. She is also a professor (Computational Literary Studies) at the University of Amsterdam.
She studied Dutch Linguistics and Literary studies at the University of Utrecht and in 1997 gained her PhD from Leiden University. From 1988 to 2001 she worked at the Institute for Dutch Lexicology in Leiden. In 2002, she started her work at the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Her research deals with stylometry and perceptions of literariness. Her main project in that area is The Riddle of Literary Quality. She also works in onomastics (name studies), focusing on comparative literary onomastics. See for more information her webpage.
She was a member of the Executive Committee of EADH from 2011-2014, continuing as EADH president until November 2015. She is now chair of the Steering Committee of the Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations (ADHO).
